| 12.2-megapixel Canon CMOS Sensor |
 EOS 1100D features a 12.2-megapixel APS-C sized CMOS Sensor. This large sized sensor is enhanced by using Gapless Microlenses and shortening the distance between the microlenses and photodiodes for much higher light-gathering capabilities. This realizes images in high quality with low noise performance even under low light environment. Image quality is retained even after image cropping, thanks to its high resolution. To ensure clear images, fluorine coating is also applied to the low-pass filter in front of the sensor to reduce dust adherence when changing lenses. |
